Burma: Resistance, Business and Nuclear Secrets

A film by Paul Moreira
First broadcast March 26, 2010 on Canal +

Burma’s repressive regime has turned its nation into one of the most isolated countries in the world. It’s impossible to work freely there as an independent journalist. Translators and guides work with foreigners at their own peril, which is high. Everything has to be captured in secret. Nevertheless thanks to the courage of the resistance movement we were able to work under-cover amid the secrets of a surreal system that has turned the entire country into a virtual prison. Through video and eyewitness accounts and documents we tell the story of what the Burmese military are trying to achieve and how they finance their projects. And reveal which western companies are assisting Burma’s dictatorship dig themselves in.
